new year's resolution

happy new year all!

i thought that this new blog would be a good way to start a new year.  new year being a bit early since i go on duty tomorrow.

i spent the last quarter of 2011 going through hell.  translation: i went through a relationship breakup.  that relationship was really good, i think.  the break up wasn't all that bad.  but even if this was so, it was the most difficult thing i had to go through in my life.  mainly because i think it was the first time i went from a loving relationship to being rejected.

however, despite the most difficult experience of my life, i am still thankful to the first man i ever loved.  i have gone through so many experiences and learned a lot from myself that i would not trade it for anything.  thank you!

however, it is time to face a new year.  i have been searching so many sites on how to empower oneself, reading so many books, trying my best to dream a lot about what i really want to become.  hence this new blog...the new me sucks it up!

Importance of Year End Reviews

So why is it important to do a year end review? There are 4 simple reasons:

1. Draw lessons from the year

i guess the most important thing i have learned this year is that i have the tremendous capacity to love.  however, love gone wrong, or lack of self love can turn into one of the greatest insecurities.  so i guess the most important thing is to love oneself a bit more.  to be able to say...i love me!  to be able to go on and decide what i want and go after it.  to let go of the things that are really not important for me.  this is my most important lesson for the year.  and also to be thankful to the people who pushed us to learn the most important lesson. :)

2. Wrap up what you’ve done this year

i think the most important thing for me to wrap up is my relationship.  to let him go and to forgive.  thank you. :)  also, to let go of my feelings of failure in my job.  i have an exam to take, i have to challenge myself to be the best i can be for this exam.  after all, this is the last exam EVER that i will be taking.  i will do good at it.
3. Regain focus
this year, i think i grade myself a B.  i will improve this coming 2012.  i will be happier and better.  because i will be open.  to foci that i will have this year: health and heart. :)
4. Start the next year on a high note
primary goal:  130 by the end of the year.  to maximize family life.  to have a happy marriage. :)
Exercise: Write Your Year End Review for 2010
Let’s get started on your year end review for this year!
1. What are your biggest accomplishments this year? (Accomplishments here refer to any results you are proud of)
i think my biggest accomplishment this year was that i have taught the first years to be on their own.  i have cultivated my friendships and kept them.

2.  What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned this year?

that i have to love myself first in order to love others better.  that security with self is necessary before you love another.  happiness does not depend on other people, but yourself.  focus on the real important things.  relationships can be improved.  we to be open to the blessings god gave us.

3.  On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied are you with how you spent the year? (Or if you prefer giving grades, what grade would you give yourself for how this year turned out, between F- to A+?) Why?

7.  i have learned to love, to be in a relationship.  i have learned to go out of my comfort zone if it is for someone i loved.  but i have to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself for myself and not for anyone else. :)

4.  What do you want to accomplish next year, such that it’s your best year ever? Alternatively,
    • If it’s now Dec 31 of next year, what do you want to see in your life? - in a relationship preparing for marriage at 130 lbs. i would have wanted to travel.
    • What does it take to make you feel a 10/10 satisfaction level at the end of next year?
  1. What new habits to cultivate that will help you to achieve your goals in Q4?
    1. exercise daily
    2. wake up early
    3. meet new people everyday
    4. fix myself up
  2. What are your immediate next steps to achieve these goals?
    1. exercise
    2. be positive

here's to claiming it this year. :)
